ABOUT BACEPOW

The Bay Area Civilian Ex-Prisoners of War (BACEPOW) is a chapter of the Congressionally chartered American Ex-POWs (AXPOW), and is dedicated to serving civilians who were held prisoner by the Japanese during WW II in East Asia.

Membership is open to all ex-POWs, military and civilian, their families and descendents, historians and people researching the civilian POW experience, and friends.  Our goal is to keep the memory of the injustice done to American civilians in inhumane camps, and depriving them of their health, possessions, livelihoods, and in many cases their lives.  We continue to seek recognition of our circumstances by the U.S. government and an apology from the Japanese government.
